GREENVILLE, Ky. — Joseph Ray Murphey, 81, of Greenville, died Friday afternoon, Oct. 21, 2016, at his home. He was born on March 11, 1935, in White Plains, Kentucky, the son of Justus William Murphey and Alice Bell Crick Murphey. He attended Greens Chapel Baptist Church and was a farmer. He is survived by two brothers, W.J. GREENVILLE, Ky. — Verlie Mae Pendley, 86, of Greenville, passed to her heavenly home on Oct. 20, 2016, after a brief illness at Owensboro One Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Verlie was a homemaker and mother of seven children, as well as working as a CNA at Muhlenberg Community Hospital, a sales clerk at Lewis' and Sullivan's Department Stores and at the Powderly Post Office.
