GREENVILLE, KY., Helen Yvonne Evans, 84, of Greenville passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Grayson County on October 18, 1938 the daughter of Shelby Higgs and Lulua Woosley. She was of the Baptist faith and was a housewife and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russell Evans, 3 sons Boyd Evans, Arnold Evans, and Eddie Evans, and 1 sister Hazel King.
She is survived by her Companion of 40 years Warren B. Simpson of Greenville, a daughter Della Rose (Charles) Teddleton of Weir, 5 sons Floyd Evans of Powderly, Ernest (Tana Lane) Evans of Madisonville, Gorden (Grace) Evans of Poke, FL., Evan Evans of Beaver Dam, and Marvin (Kelly) Evans of Manitou, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a brother Oscar (Martha) Higgs of Caneyville.

He was born in Huntsville, Alabama on February 11, 1966 the son of the late Kenneth Leroy Shenfish and Edna Hoffman Shenfish. He was retired from the United States Navy and was of the Baptist faith. He loved to play golf.

GREENVILLE, KY., Dixie Belle Chandler, 76, of Greenville passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She was born in Muhlenberg County on January 10, 1947 the daughter of the late Frank Chandler and Carrie Lee Willis Chandler.
She is survived by her sister Pauline McDonald of Greenville, KY.

GREENVILLE, KY., Harry (Peachy} Cox Pollock, 83, of Greenville passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital Long Term Care following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Peachy was born March 19, 1940 to the late Catholene Cox Pollock and Archie Duncan Pollock Sr. He was a lifelong member of Greenville United Methodist Church. Peachy graduated from Greenville High School in 1958 and received an Associates Degree from Western Kentucky University. Peachy signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1958 and played in their farm system until he entered the U.S. Army in 1962 where he served 2 years. Following his discharge, Peachy worked in various roles for the Peabody Coal company. Peachy was the last in a long line of Pollocks who worked in the coal mining industry, with a lineage that can be traced back at least four generations to his Scottish ancestor, Archibald Pollock, who came to Airdrie, KY in the late 1850's. After Peachy retired from the Peabody Coal Company he worked for the city of Greenville as Utilities Commission Superintendent for 4 years and was a Utilities Commissioner for 4 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Christopher (Chuck) Pollock.
Peachy is survived by his daughter Leslie Pollock Creager (Shane), 2 granddaughters Alex and Payton Creager and his brother A.D. Pollock, Jr. (Clara).
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at OHMCH Long Term Care for their kind and dedicated care during his time there and especially during his last days and hours of life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Gary's Funeral Home 405 Hopkinsville Street Greenville, KY and a celebration of life with Military Honors.

GREENVILLE, KY., James Marion “Jim” Robinson, 81, of Greenville passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Greenville on January 20, 1942, the son of Elmer Robinson and Eula Carver Robinson. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Korea. He was retired from Supervalu and was a lifetime member of Woodland Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Sandra Gillaspie Robinson in 1997, 3 brothers Bill Robinson, Luke Robinson, and Bob Robinson, a sister Barbara Jean Driskill.
He is survived by his son Michael (Jessica) Robinson of White Plains, his daughter Melissa (Todd) Howard of Owensboro, 4 grandchildren Jaclyn (Chris) Mitchell, James Michael Robinson, Gracie Howard, and Hallie Howard, 2 step-grandchildren Celena (Paul) Heishman and Shelby (Wendell) Keoughan, 10 great grandchildren, a sister Ann Hill of Owensboro.

GREENVILLE, KY., Bobby Joe “Bud” Miller, 81, of Greenville passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Muhlenberg County on September 10, 1941 the son of Andrew Jackson Miller and Ruthie Ann Howell Miller. He was a member of Carter Creek Baptist Church and was a Shriner and a member of Pond River Lodge #244. He had worked for TVA as a pipe fitter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris Miller, and 3 sisters Flora Belle McKinney, Carrie Bailey, and Sissy Milam.
He is survived by a son Jeffery (Patsy) Miller of Knoxville, TN., a daughter Teresa Lynn Anderson of Cincinnati, OH., his special friend Janice Grace of Greenville, and 3 grandchildren.

GREENVILLE, KY., Margaret Mae Johnson, 93, of Greenville passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Riversbend Retirement Community in Kuttawa, KY. She was born in Central City on September 17, 1929 the daughter of Clark Rickard and Della Wilkins Rickard. She was a member of Greenville First Baptist Church and she was a registered nurse working at Muhlenberg Community Hospital for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James “Jimmy” Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter Libby (Don) Spears of Greenville.

She was born in Lexington on June 12, 1941 the daughter of Howard G. DeVary and Ruth Elizabeth Pace DeVary. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington and she was a secretary for IBM before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Armilda Green.

She was preceded in death by her father and a son Ashley White

GREENVILLE, KY., Robert Edward “Bob” Taylor, 92, of Greenville passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Maple Manor Health and Rehabilitation in Greenville. He was born in Greenville on March 13, 1931 the son of Robert Hiram Taylor and Mable Virginia Walker Taylor. When he returned to Greenville and owned B & J Trucking and Finley Oil Company. He was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He was also a farmer all of his life.
He was a career military officer with the U.S. Army acquiring the rank of major and retiring in 1973. During his 23 years in the military, Major Taylor participated in 2 wars, and numerous assignments in the Continental United States. His last assignment was with the United States Army Special Security Group at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, and the James Forrestal Building, Independence Avenue, Washington, D.C. After retirement Major Taylor accepted a position as director of communications and security for the East Coast Division of Stanford Research Institute in Washing, D.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean Robinson Taylor, 2 sisters Mary Ann Taylor and Judy Frances Taylor Strader, 2 brothers Charles Wesley Taylor and Donald Franklin Taylor, a daughter Pamela Jean Taylor Finley, and a great grandson Camden Taylor Spires.
He is survived by a granddaughter Meagan (SSG Griffin Spires) Finley of Hopkinsville, 2 brothers John Roy (Patsy) Taylor of Texas and Joseph Hiram Taylor of Danville, several nieces and nephews

DUNMOR, KY., William Joseph. Robertson, Sr., 86, of Dunmor passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was born in Logan County, KY on February 11, 1937 the son of Okus Robertson and Elsie Mae White Robertson. He was a self-employed carpenter and the founder of Robertson Cabinets, Inc. He loved to ride horses and enjoyed his farm animals and his gardens. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was always willing to help anyone who needed assistance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son William Joseph Robertson, Jr., and 2 sisters Nadine Noffsinger and Adell Whittenberger.

GREENVILLE, KY., Donald “Dandy” Eugene Carver, 87, of Greenville passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born in Butler, Missouri on May 2, 1935 the son of Everett Carver and Josephine Clementine Shelton Carver. He was a UMWA coal miner and worked for Peabody Coal at Sinclair Surface Mines. After retiring from the mines, he worked for Four Seasons Lawncare. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville. He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He loved flying his RC airplanes and was a voracious reader.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years Myrna Joyce Carver, his brothers Everett Carver Junior, Douglas “Spot” Harold Carver, and Joe Lee Carver.
He is survived by 1 daughter Tracy (David) Simmons of Chapel Hill, TN., 1 son Todd (Sherry) Carver, Sr. of Owensboro, 4 grandchildren Chelsi McPherson, Mallory (Brence) Brooks, Nathan (Taylor) Simmons, and Todd Carver, II., 4 great grandchildren Autumn Brooks, Cameron Brooks, Brendan Brooks, and Conner Simmons, special friend Mike Munday. She was a loving wife, mother, and mammaw, and was a great example of a Christian woman. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Central City. She loved to go fishing and to play cards with friends and family. She had a great love for her family and was always smiling and laughing.
She was preceded in death by her son Marty Mallory, her parents, 3 sisters Carol Harless, Dean McGuyer, and Sue Johnson, and her brother James Jernigan.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 53 years Roy Mallory of Greenville,

He was born in Greenville on August 8, 1960 the son of Jim Randall Howe, Sr. and Jane Howe. He was a long-haul trucker for 35 years. He adored his wife and he enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father.

POWDERLY, KY., Steven Brian Hilliard, 71, of Powderly passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at his residence. He was born on December 11, 1951 in Detroit, MI., the son of the late Earl Hilliard and Willodean Steele Hilliard. He was a coal miner and worked for Hopkins County Coal Mines. While he was in the US Army, he served in Vietnam. He was a car enthusiast and he loved collecting Hot Wheels.
He is survived by 3 daughters Jeannie Hosman, Angela Caudill, and Brandy Terry, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

DRAKESBORO, KY., Tracy Lynn Gary, 61, of Drakesboro passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Greenville on September 25, 1961 the daughter of Obie Gene Gary and Mary Elaine Reed Gary. She was of the Baptist faith and she had worked at Walmart and Flynn Industries in Greenville. She loved her family and grandbabies most of all, but also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Terry Gary, and sister Helen Jean Gary.
