GREENVILLE, KY., Anna Mae Browning Stanley, 93, of Greenville went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at her residence. She was born on April 19, 1927 to Jake and Blanche Browning. She was a Christian first and foremost and a member of Carter Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Mae was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed her family and loved to talk about her ‘Uncle Boob’ JW Gill who was a big influence in her Christian life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years Carl ‘Doc’ Stanley, a grandson Kelvin Hendrix, a brother L. B. Browning, and 2 sisters Mary Lou Rolley and Ava Nell Key.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Stanley will be private. Rev. John ‘Butch’ Day will be officiating, and burial will be in Carter Creek Cemetery. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by 2 daughters Patsy (Melvin) Hendrix of Dunmor, Betty (Tim) Latham of Dunmor, 2 sons Tommy (Sharon) Stanley of Belton, David (Darleen) Stanley of Greenville, 7 grandchildren Susan Hendrix, Sharon Lyons, Kristy (Steven) O’Bannon, Justin (Jessica) Stanley, Jesse Latham, Josh (Charity) Latham, and Stacy Latham, great grandchildren Brittany Lyons, Luna Stanley, and soon-to-come Lazarus Stanley, several nieces and nephews.
