Effie Mae Cary, 87, of Greenville

CARY.-EFFIE-MAEGREENVILLE, KY., — Effie Mae Cary, 87, of Greenville passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born July 27, 1932 in Muhlenberg County the daughter of Lewis Johnston and Cordie Clack Johnston. She was a member of Lone Star General Baptist Church and was a housewife and a homemaker. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years Marvin Lindy Cary in 2019, her daughter-in-law Rebecca Cary, sister Mildred Walker and a brother Kenneth Johnston.

She is survived by 3 sons Michael B. (Elaine) Cary of Greenville, Stephan L. Cary of Greenville, Ricky (Patricia) Cary of Greenville, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 brother Lloyd (Barbara) Johnston of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 2pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Tony Shanks officiating and burial to follow in Lone Star Cemetery in Greenville.

Friends may call after 11am Sunday morning February 16, 2020 at Gary’s Funeral Home until time of funeral.
