Murvin Ray Chandler, 85, of Greenville

CHANDLER-MURVIN-RAY---11-7-2019vet ffffffGREENVILLE, KY., — Murvin Ray Chandler, 85, of Greenville passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 3:20am in Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born in Greenville on November 1, 1934 the son of Elgin Chandler and Lola Belle Latham Chandler. He was of the Baptist faith, was a farmer and a timber cutter, and worked for the Muhlenberg County Highway Department as a truck driver.  

He was an Army veteran and served from 1956 to 1958.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers V J Chandler, Delbert Chandler, Orvil Chandler, Sanford Chandler, and Bonnie Chandler.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Anna Jo Crick Chandler of Greenville, 1 daughter Barbara (Bobby) Law of Elkton, 2 grandchildren Brent Elkins and Crystal Elkins, 1 great grandchild JaKayden Lovan, 1 sister Catherine Jones of Greenville, 4 sister-in-laws Cora Chandler of Greenville, Christene Chandler of Greenville, Glodean Chandler of Greenville, Edna Chandler of Beaver Dam, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville by Rev. Autry Moore, assisted by Rev. J.W. Haire and Rev. Roger Reynolds.  Burial with military honors will be in Olive Grove Cemetery in Greenville, KY.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 5pm until 8pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY.
