Leslie Net Walker, Jr., 88, of Greenville

WALKER-JR.-LESLIE-NET--4-8-2019GREENVILLE, KY., — Leslie Net Walker, Jr., 88, of Greenville passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 6:35am in the Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. He was born on May 17, 1930 in Muhlenberg County the son of Leslie Net Walker, Sr. and Lilla Belle Rager Walker. He was a member of New Harmony General Baptist Church. He was a farmer all of his life, was an oil field worker, and he retired as a United States Postal Carrier after 22 years.

He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lonzo Walker, and a sister Christine Sweeney.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Belle Marie Mayes Walker of Greenville, 2 sons Royce (Teresa) Walker of Greenville, Gary (Dorothy) Walker of Greenville, 1 daughter Shirley (Jim) Williams of Tamaroa, IL., 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Barbara Henderson of Mobile, AL and Laverne Sigers of Kirkmansville, KY.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 1pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY with Rev. Tony Evitts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbriar Schoolhouse Cemetery in Greenville, KY with military honors.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 10am until 1pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY.
