Jimmy Lee Bivins, 76, of Greenville

JIMMY-LEE-BIVINGREENVILLE, KY., — Jimmy Lee Bivins, 76, of Greenville went to meet his Savior on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born on August 15, 1942 the son of Herman Bivins and Mattie Bell Laster Bivins. He was an active member of First Assembly of God Church in Greenville where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, maintenance person, and any job that needed doing. He retired from TVA in 1994 after 29 years as a pipe fitter and plant support supervisor.  He loved playing golf with his wife, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He was a Military Veteran and was a Sergeant in the Army Serving in Korea from 1960 to 1966. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Mary Jo Bivins and Louise Case.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 16 at 11am at First Assembly of God Church in Greenville with Rev. Ed Tackett officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in Woodland Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Anna Grace Bivins of Greenville, 2 daughters Teresa (Len) Chappell of Greenville, Amy Bivins of Greenville, 1 granddaughter Courtney (Brad) Tudor of Greenville, 1 grandson David (Kristy) Chappell of Greenville, 5 great grandchildren Addison Tudor, Cy Tudor, Ty Chappell, Garrett Wells, and Chandler Wells, 1 brother Ernest Bivins of Nicholasville, 2 sisters Imogene Shanks of Louisville and Barbara Gibbs of Greenville, KY.

Friends may call from 5pm until 8pm on Friday, March 15 at First Assembly of God Church in Greenville and after 9am until time of funeral on Saturday at First Assembly of God Church.
