Willadean Jernigan McGuyer, 88, of Lewisburg

IMG 0372LEWISBUG, KY., — Willadean Jernigan McGuyer, 88, of Lewisburg passed away on Tuesday afternoon November 27, 2018 at 4:48pm in the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, Owensboro after a lengthy illness. Willadean was born November 23, 1930 in Muhlenberg County the daughter of Robert Gilbert Jernigan and Mary Francis Miller Jernigan. She was a bookkeeper for Harless Wholesale in Greenville for about ten years and retired in 1986. She was a faithful member of Northside Church of Christ in Russellville, KY. She was an excellent cook and hostess, and found joy in family gatherings. She also enjoyed crocheting and traveling the United States in an RV with her husband once going all the way to Alaska. She was known for her quick wit, funny stories, and ready laugh. She was gracious and kind to everyone she met and took pride in keeping an immaculate house.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Marjorie Doss Jernigan, a brother James Jernigan, 2 sisters Carolyn Jernigan Harless and Sue Jernigan Johnson, a son Philip Dwayne McGuyer, and a grandson Micah Ezra Cox.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years Thomas ‘Tommy’ McGuyer of Lewisburg, 2 daughters Marjorie Ann McGuyer Cox of Chattanooga, TN., Missi Adams of Greenville, 1 son Jeffrey Thomas (Nellie) McGuyer of Powderly, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and 1 sister Judy (Roy) Mallory of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 3pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY conducted by Mr. Chris Kramer. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Cleaton, KY.

Visitation will be from 2pm until 3pm on Sunday, December 2 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY.
