SULLIVANDRAKESBORO, KY., — Donald Lee Sullivan, 81, of Drakesboro passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 2:58pm in Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on November 8, 1936 in Eagle Creek, IL the son of Clelvas Sullivan and Opal Ruth Morris Sullivan. He was a retired UMWA coal miner having worked at Sinclair Underground Coal Mine and was a retired union carpenter. He liked to sing and play guitar and had a great sense of humor all through his illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Daniel Clelvas Sullivan in 2011, a grandson Tanner Reed Sullivan, 4 brothers Maurice Sullivan, Gene Sullivan, Bill Sullivan, and Fred Sullivan, 3 sisters Louise Sullivan, Barbara Jones, and Novella Hopson.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Helen McGehee Sullivan of Drakesboro, 2 daughters Diane (Robert) Garrett of Dunmor, Patricia (Leland) Garrett of Dunmor, 1 son Donald Lee (Chris) Sullivan, Jr. of Drakesboro, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 1pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating and burial to follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Sharon Grove, KY.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 1 from 10am until time of service at 1pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
