Marvin Lindy Cary, 86, of Greenville

CARY LINDY__4-29-2018GREENVILLE, KY., — Marvin Lindy Cary, 86, of Greenville passed away on Sunday morning, April 29 at 8:19am at his home after several months illness.  Lindy was born April 14, 1932 in Muhlenberg County and he was a retired UMWA coal miner for Peabody Coal Company.  He was a member of Lone Star General Baptist Church and was sexton and trustee over the cemetery for over 20 years.  He loved to hunt and fish and was an outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by a sister, a brother, and a daughter-in-law Rebecca Lee Vick Cary.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Effie Mae Johnson Cary of Greenville, 3 sons Michael B. (Elaine) Cary of Greenville, Stephan L. Cary of Greenville,       

Ricky (Patricia) Cary of Greenville, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday morning, May 2 at 11am at Lone Star General Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tony Shanks with burial to follow in Lone Star Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 1 from 5pm to 8pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY, and the body will lie in state after 10am until time of funeral at Lone Star General Baptist Church.
