Jim-Clay-McDonaldvet ffffffGREENVILLE, KY., — Jim Clay McDonald, Jr., 86, of Greenville passed away Thursday night January 4, 2018 at 6:25pm at Owensboro Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville after a short illness.  Jim was born January 3, 1932 in Henry County, Kentucky, the son of Jim Clay McDonald, Sr. and Clyde Giles McDonald.  He was an Air Force veteran and served in England for 3 years, and he was a member of First Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Kingsmen Sunday School class.  He was a UMWA coal miner for 17 years before retirement in 2000.  He served on the Muhlenberg County Fiscal Court as Magistrate of District 3 for 9 years.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and an avid UK basketball fan. He loved to fish and golf and considered it a great round if he hit across the water. He also loved to go out to eat breakfast and drink coffee with his best buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Norma Jean Wood.

Funeral services will be at 2pm Saturday, January 6 at First Baptist Church in Greenville, KY.

conducted by Reverend John Galyen, assisted by Rev. Curtis McGhee and Rev. Chris Dennis.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville, KY.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Priscilla Ann Skipworth McDonald of Greenville,

daughters Kimberly (Tommy) Watkins of Greenville, Sabrina (Kelly) Free of Greenville, grandchildren Clay (Katie) Watkins of Greenville, Alex (Lauren) Watkins of Greenville, Andrew Free of Greenville, Rachel Free of Greenville, greatgrandchildren Emma, Ella, Easton, and Malone Watkins, 1 sister Helen Smith of Frankfort, KY, several special nieces and nephews

Friends may call on January 6 after 10am at First Baptist Church in Greenville, KY.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
