Charles Donald Camplin, 77, of Greenville

CamplinGREENVILLE, KY., — Charles Donald Camplin, 77, of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday night, November 14, 2017 at 8:08pm at his home after several months illness. He was born November 29, 1939 in Graham, KY, the son of Josh Harrison Camplin and Ruthie Mae Steward Camplin. He was a member of Graham Baptist Church and was a UMWA coal miner for 32 years before retiring in 1996. He was an Army veteran. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Peggy Camplin in 2008, a son Butch Johnson in 1998.

Mr. Camplin is survived by 2 daughters Belinda (Chris) Lear of Greenville and Teresa (Doyle) Shutt of Greenville, daughter-in-law Susan Johnson (Tony) Downey of Greenville, 4 grandchildren Christopher Shutt of Greenville, Andrew (Katherine) Shutt of Greenville, Chelsea Johnson (Christopher) Hollman of Greenville, Daxton (Hannah) Lear of Drakesboro, 3 great-grandchildren Lelan Shutt, Wyatt Shutt, and Maddox Shutt, 2 brothers Raymond (Betty) Camplin of Greenville and Leonard (Alice) Camplin of Bremen, KY

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY conducted by his grandson Rev. Daxton Lear. Burial will follow with military honors at Graham Hill Cemetery, Graham, KY.
