Lydia Frances Batson, 96, of Greenville

Batson1GREENVILLE, KY., — Lydia Frances Batson, 96, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, October 25, 2017 at her home in Greenville, following a lengthy illness. Frances was born on May 2, 1921 in Clarksville, TN the daughter of Arthur Weakley and Eva Jones Weakley. She was a housewife, homemaker and member of the Greenville United Methodist Church. Lydia was an avid volunteer for the Red Cross, Muhlenberg Community Hospital and served as President of the Muhlenberg County Homemakers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years Arthur Eugene Batson in 2008, her daughter Anne Batson, son Rodney Batson, grandson Brent Batson, 1 sister Effie Weaver, 2 brothers J.R. Weakley and Norman Weakley.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday morning October 30, 2017 at 11am from Gary’s Funeral Home by Reverend Steven Neel and Reverend Rick Holladay. Graveside services will be in Hendersonville Memorial Gardens in Hendersonville, TN at 3pm on Monday, October 30, 2017.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017 between 5pm and 8pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, and on Monday after 10am.

She is survived by 2 sons Douglas (Vivian) Batson of Hendersonville, TN, Jerry (Joyce) Batson of Louisville, KY, 3 Grandchildren Leanne Smith (Kurt Jenkins) of Hendersonville, TN, Dr. Nicholas (Dr. Lisa) Batson of Middletown, NY, Emily (Jon) Shore of Katy, Texas, 5 Great Grandchildren Sydney, Evelyn, Everett, Maxwell, Eleanor, 1 Sister Nell Batson of Clarksville, TN
