Wallace Ray Evitts

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY - Wallace Ray Evitts, 80, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Va., following a short illness.

He was born in Muhlenberg County on March 20, 1930, and had lived in Virginia the past 11 years. He graduated from Graham High School in 1950. Mr. Evitts retired as a steel worker from Green River Steel Co. in Owensboro in 1984 after 34 1/2 years of service. He was a member of East Union Baptist Church in Graham. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Susan Colleen Quinn; and a stepson, Benjamin Arthur Quinn.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Doris (Vance) Evitts of Wilsons, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Debbie (Richard) Moeller of Graham; three stepsons, Pilson Lee Quinn of Fort Worth, Texas, Robert Alexander Quinn of Wilsons and William Frederick Quinn of Athens, Ala.; 11 stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Nell Evitts Wines of Greenville; two nephews, David Rust Wines and

Larry Thomas Wines; one great-niece; and one great-great-niece.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at Gary's Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Jerry Eades officiating. Burial is in East Union Cemetery in Graham. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
