GREENVILLE, KY., Deanna Jean O’Brien, 75, of Greenville gained her heavenly wings on September 18, 2021 after battles with Alzheimer’s disease and colon cancer. She was born June 11, 1946 in Pennsylvania to Dean “Lefty” Myers and Helen Buck Myers. She Deanna attended St. Rose School and St. Aloysious Academy in New Lexington, Ohio. She graduated in 1964 and began work as a bank teller. She married Robert “Bob” O’Brien on August 17,1968. She worked as a teacher’s assistant at St. Rose school while her children, Kelly and Bobby, attended school there. The family relocated to Muhlenberg County in 1988 with Bobs’ job. She obtained her real estate license and worked in both West Virginia and Greenville, Ky as an agent. Deanna also worked for Muhlenberg County EMS services for several years and then worked as a school bus monitor until her retirement in 2018.
She leaves behind her husband of many years Bob O’Brien, daughter Kelly O’Brien, grandson Ben, son Bobby and wife Lisa, grandchildren Robert and Kate, brothers James and Dean Myers, sister Linda Coffman, along with multiple nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Muhlenberg County Humane society to help care for the animals she loved so much. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
