GREENVILLE, KY., Waymon Lee “Snuffy” Brooks, 81, of Greenville passed away Saturday night, February 6, 2021 at 6:55 pm at his home following a lengthy illness. Waymon was born on May 17, 1939 in Muhlenberg County the son of the late Buren Walter Brooks and Hilda Marie Brooks. He was a member of Jernigan’s Chapel Methodist Church. Waymon was a farmer all of his life. He worked for Greenville Log and Lumber until his retirement. He was known for selling produce at the flea market and at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Linda Garrett.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Wilma Jean Boatwright Brooks of Greenville, his children Stacy Sumner of Greenville, Jason (Tiffany) Brooks of Greenville, 5 grandchildren Tara (Andrew) Fauver Sierra Brooks, Alexis Sumner, Makaila Brooks, Cassidy White, 1 great-grandchild Javion Tutt, 3 brothers Owen Dal (Bonnie) Brooks of Greenville, Marvin Brooks of Greenville, and Milford (Thelma) Brooks of Greenville.
Visitation will be after 10:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm from Gary’s Funeral Home by Reverend Steve Latham with burial to follow in Jernigan’s Chapel Cemetery.
In accordance with the state mandates, facial coverings, and social distancing for people in attendance will be required.
