Greenville, KY., – Norma Jean Scarbrough, 88, of Greenville passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN after a sudden illness. She was born in Muhlenberg County on November 3, 1931 the daughter of Guy Bivins and Elva Leener Edwards Bivins. She was a housewife and a farmer all her life, and she was a member of Joines Chapel General Baptist Church. She loved to cook and to chew tobacco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Scarbrough in 2016, and a brother James W. Bivins.
She is survived by 1 son Steven Scarbrough of Greenville, 3 grandchildren Michael (Tabitha) Scarbrough, Hillary (Jim Ed) Greenfield, Kristina (Joseph) Soares, 7 great grandchildren Makenna, Miley, Traylen, Alton, Nevaeh, Trixie, Levi, 1 sister Guyanna (Bobby) Scarbrough of Greenville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. David Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery in Greenville.
In compliance with state mandates, capacity for both funeral and visitation will be limited to state guidelines, and all visitors must wear masks.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
