GREENVILLE, KY., Alfred Eugene Cornette, 67, of Greenville passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Utica, KY. He was born on November 1, 1952 the son of William Clayton Cornette and Barbara Nelle Williams Cornette. He was a wonderful man, a very selfless person who cared more for others happiness than his own. Growing up, he always made sure his children had the best of everything. If you knew Al, then you knew he was no cheapskate. He bought only the best, even if it meant being broke afterwards. He loved to catch catfish and his love of the outdoors was unmatched by anyone. He was always busy doing something. In his lifetime, he raised 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and hundreds of pets, from rabbits to horses, all of whom got to experience his gentle heart, hard-working hands, and the passionate love that came through his beautiful blue eyes. He sang like a mockingbird and loved Southern gospel music. He will be missed by many, but we take comfort in knowing he walks and talks with our Savior Jesus Christ. We can only imagine what he is experiencing. Until we meet again, we will love and miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife April Diane Cornette in 2014, a daughter Robin Gail Cornette in 2016, and 3 brothers James Cornette, Larry Cornette, and George Cornette.
He is survived by a daughter Julie (Kevin) Trunnell of Utica, a son Joey (Amanda) Cornette of Greenville, 8 grandchildren Ashton Trunnell, Ivy Groves, Kelsey Trunnell, Levi Groves Molly Trunnell, Madelyn Lovell, Hank Lovell, and Sophia Cornette, 2 sisters Donna (Mike) Turner of Greenville, Debbie (Jimmy) Long of Jacksonville, FL.
There will be no visitation and funeral services will be private. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
