Karen Estelle ‘Kaye’ Dockins, 66, of Greenville

KARENGREENVILLE, KY., Karen Estelle ‘Kaye’ Dockins, 66, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 6:50pm at Diversicare in Greenville, KY.  Karen was born on June 25, 1951 in Muhlenberg County, the loving daughter of George Estil Dockins and Lois Marie McCauley Dockins.  She resided most of her life in Muhlenberg County and attended Greenville School.  She had been a member of Pleasant Hill Church and Greenville United Methodist Church.  Karen’s parents were instrumental in the founding of the Muhlenberg County Opportunity Center where Karen worked for over 30 years. Karen enjoyed parties and dancing at the Opportunity Center where she was crowned Queen many times. She loved collecting stuffed animals and “I Love Lucy” mementos. She also loved boat riding, festivals, chocolate ice cream, her UK basketball, and giving hugs.

Karen was preceded in death by her loving parents, sister George Ann Dockins, and her grandparents Estelle and Florence Dockins and John and Verda McCauley.

She is survived by her loving brother Tom (Brenda) Dockins of Lewisburg, KY, her sister Jane (Virgil) McPherson of Owensboro, KY, her aunt Jimmie Knight of Greenville, nieces and nephews—Kim (Ronnie) Dunn of Owensboro, KY, Kandra (Freddie) Stephens of Hawesville, KY, Mike (Debbie) McPherson of Owensboro, KY, Cyndi (John) Skirvin of Hanover, IN, Cassandra Jensen of Minnesota, Kristy (Todd) Brackin of Owensboro, KY, Christopher (Heather) Dockins of New Vienna, OH, Cathie (Gary) Wilkin of Minnesota, 37 great nieces and nephews, 8 great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

Funeral services will be on Friday, August 25 at 3pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY with Karen’s nephew, Michael McPherson officiating with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Greenville.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 25 beginning at 12pm until time of service at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
